A typical furnace temperature is 2500°F. A superheater tube furnace side temperature is 1600°F. At these temperatures vanadium pentoxide and sodium vanadates are in a molten state.

This molten state creates sticky adherent ash particles which have a tendency to build up on fireside surfaces.
